Founded in 1661 in Eerbeek, the Netherlands, Coldenhove has grown from a regional paper mill into a global specialist in high-value paper solutions. With more than three and a half centuries of craftsmanship, technical expertise, and long-term partnerships, we continue to build on a strong foundation of knowledge and innovation.

Coldenhove operates a modern, high-tech paper mill where advanced production systems and centuries of expertise come together. From fiber to finished roll, every step is engineered for consistency, efficiency and traceable quality.

Every roll we produce can be made to exact client specifications. Width, length, core diameter and packaging options are all configurable, allowing us to match the requirements of printers, calenders, converters and OEMs around the world.

Our packaging department is fully robotised, handling, wrapping and palletising rolls with speed and precision. This automation ensures stable roll geometry, damage-free handling and fast, reliable order processing — essential for both digital printing and medical applications.

Our dedicated Innovation & Development department works directly with customers, OEMs and partners to create new paper solutions and refine existing ones. From novel coatings such as Texcol® to more efficient production methods, this team ensures our papers evolve with the industries that depend on them.

Together, our mill, robotics and research capabilities form the backbone of Coldenhove’s reputation: dependable paper engineered for real-world performance.

Across all our activities, we focus on three core principles:

  1. Reliability and consistency
Our customers count on predictable performance. Whether producing sublimation transfer paper, sterile barrier papers, or advanced coated specialties, we ensure every roll meets the highest standards.
  2. Innovation driven by real needs
We continuously develop new paper applications in close dialogue with textile printers, medical manufacturers, converters, OEMs, and other partners.
  3. Responsible manufacturing
With sustainability embedded in our operations, we minimize our environmental impact while maintaining the quality our partners rely on.
  • Focusing on the applications where our technical excellence adds real value
  • Expanding our offering with innovative, sustainable paper solutions
  • Collaborating directly with partners to anticipate future needs
  • Operating responsibly to safeguard resources for the next generations

For Coldenhove, innovation isn’t a concept — it’s a continuous process powered by expertise, curiosity, and long-term commitment.

Our story begins in 1661, when the Boshoff family selected the high grounds of the Eerbeekse Beek for their paper mill — a location chosen for the purity of its water and the ability to operate responsibly within nature.

Over the centuries, Coldenhove developed:

  • Traditional specialty papers for envelopes, folders, and office use
  • Screencol rotary screen transfer papers in the 1970s
  • Jetcol®, the world’s first digital dye sublimation transfer paper, in 1998
  • Medicol® sterile barrier papers for medical packaging
  • Texcol®, the world’s first pigment transfer paper for natural fabrics.
  • New coated and barrier materials through our Innovation & Development department

From a family-owned mill to a global industry partner, Coldenhove has remained committed to quality, innovation, and long-term relationships.

Electric boiler installation at Coldenhove

Our new E-Boiler cuts gas use and supports a more stable electricity grid.

Electric Boiler: Cleaner Steam, Smarter Energy

Coldenhove’s electric boiler (eBoiler) operates alongside our existing steam installation as a hybrid system. By generating steam electrically, we significantly lower CO₂ emissions, while becoming less dependent on fossil fuels. The eBoiler can also absorb peaks in the electricity grid by taking in surplus renewable power, helping stabilize the grid.

Reclaimed process water purification system at Coldenhove

95% of all process water is reused in our mill.

Closing the Water Loop

We reuse 95% of all process water. Through advanced purification and smart recirculation, the same water travels through our mill again and again, drastically reducing the need for fresh water. The remaining 5% is treated at our water treatment facility IWE, where it is thoroughly cleaned before being safely returned to nature.
