From trend-driven collections to high-volume commercial production, fashion printers face constant pressure to deliver flawless color, sharp detail and consistent results — all while maintaining tight deadlines and sustainable processes.

Polyester-based garments, fast design cycles and demanding clients require a transfer paper that performs every time.

Digital dye-sublimation has become a core technology in fashion textile printing. Coldenhove invented digital sublimation transfer paper in 1998 and has been optimizing papers for fashion, sportswear, home textiles and signage ever since.

Fast design-to-garment cycles

Digital dye-sublimation lets you move from artwork to finished garment in a fraction of the time of conventional printing. There are no screens to engrave, store or clean, so updating a colorway or tweaking a print is as simple as changing the file. This makes it easy to respond to last-minute design changes, test new ideas and keep collections fresh. View products

High flexibility from sample to full production

With sublimation, you can run a single sample, a small collection or a full bulk order on the same line – using the same paper, inks and settings. There’s no minimum print quantity dictated by screen costs, which means you can serve more customers, offer more options and reduce the risk of obsolete stock. This flexibility is ideal for fashion workflows with many SKUs, and on-demand or near-shore production models. View products

Brilliant, durable color on polyester

In sublimation, the ink turns into gas and bonds inside the polyester fibers instead of sitting on top of the fabric. The result is deep, vivid color with excellent detail, while the fabric itself stays soft and breathable. Because the dye is locked into the fiber, prints are highly resistant to washing, rubbing and transpiration – essential for fashion pieces that need to look good and feel comfortable wear after wear. Shorter seasons and smaller, mixed print runs

Collections drop more frequently, with many colorways and sizes. You need papers that handle frequent changeovers and mixed jobs without curling, cockling or color variation. View products

Printing on lightweight and stretchy fabrics

From chiffon-like polyester to stretch jerseys and technical blends, fashion textiles are getting lighter and more complex. Papers must stay flat under high speeds and varying ink loads, and in some cases stick to the textile to prevent ghosting and rivering. View products

More meters per roll — longer, uninterrupted runs

In fashion production, every roll change slows the line down. Lighter-weight sublimation papers offer significantly more meters on a single roll, allowing printers to run longer without swapping. Fewer stops mean smoother workflows, higher output, and more consistent quality across large collections — exactly what fast-moving fashion manufacturers need to stay efficient. View products

Balancing speed, cost efficiency and sustainability

Margins are tight and pressure to reduce environmental impact is growing. You need to minimize ink consumption, reduce waste and work with responsibly produced papers – without slowing down production. View products

Fashion printing needs to be fast, predictable and easy to manage — especially when collections change often. Coldenhove papers are made to support that workflow with stable quality, reliable drying and consistent transfer behavior.

Papers engineered for fashion textiles

Our Jetcol®, Jet-X® and Xtreme® papers are developed with the needs of fashion printers in mind, such as lightweight fabrics, stretch materials and varied ink loads. Our engineers design and test each grade for stable behavior and repeatable results, so you can switch between garments and designs without surprises.

Consistency from sample to production

Because we control the full process — from fiber selection to coating — our papers behave predictably from roll to roll. This helps maintain color consistency across different SKUs and production batches. Our Innovation & Development team tests our papers on many printers and inks to ensure stable performance in real production settings.

Practical technical support

Our engineers and application specialists help printers adjust settings, improve print-room conditions and solve issues such as ghosting or uneven color. Their experience with machines, workflows and materials helps you run a cleaner, more efficient process with less trial and error.

Worldwide availability

With partners and distributors around the world, Coldenhove papers are readily accessible in key fashion markets. Local stock and coordinated logistics help shorten lead times, reduce transport distance and ensure you can produce without interruptions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Clear answers to the most common questions. Can’t find what you need? Send us your question and we’ll help right away.

Why is sublimation printing a good fit for fashion collections?

Sublimation printing lets fashion brands and converters produce vivid, durable prints on polyester-based fabrics with short lead times and flexible run lengths. Designs can be updated quickly, colors remain bright after washing, and the process works well for everything from lightweight dresses to outerwear and athleisure.

Which Coldenhove papers do you recommend for fashion?

For most polyester fashion garments we recommend Xtreme®, Jet-X® and Jetcol® HTR1000. When you need high productivity and deep color Xtreme® and Jetcol® High Speed are ideal. For lightweight garments Xtreme® Light is a strong choice. Jet-X® and Jetcol® HTR1000 are excellent all-rounders for mixed fashion jobs.

Can I also print on cotton or other natural fibers?

Yes. For natural-fiber fashion garments such as cotton and linen, our Texcol® pigment transfer paper lets you print high-quality designs without complex pre- or post-treatment steps. This waterless process simplifies your workflow compared to traditional reactive or discharge printing and can help reduce environmental impact.

How do Coldenhove papers support more sustainable fashion production?

All Coldenhove papers are made from FSC®-certified fibers, and our production is designed to minimize environmental impact through high levels of water reuse, energy recovery and efficient packaging.
